3 of 5 National Finalists are from GNJSHFSA!

“The Chapter with an Attitude” has three teams entering this year’s AHF Culinary Competition.

The cook-off is taking place in Orlando at the AHF National meeting on Wednesday, June 4, at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort!

AHF_Culinary_Competition_2014The three teams representing GNJSHFSA are

  • Saint Clare’s Health System – Joanne McMillian and Aatul Jain

  • Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Timothy Gee and Nicolas Mercogliano

  • Valley Hospital – Steven Bressler and John Graziano

 New this year for the Culinary Competition, our creative teams have the opportunity to choose their mandatory ingredient from two options:

  • Santiago® Smart Servings™ Lowfat Vegetarian Refried Beans – w/Whole beans
  • Santiago® Seasoned Vegetarian Black Beans

Entries may include one or both of the bean products and may be used in either the entrée or side dish.

 The planning committee is throwing in a twist for 2014. For the first time, finalists will be given a family of mystery ingredients, one of which must be added to their dish during the competition. This twist will account for five points during the judging.
